Texas Hold'em Rules

In Texas Hold'em, the rules are very simple. First Players place the required blinds or antes. They all receive two cards and they remain hidden until the final showdown of hands.

When the first two cards are dealt the betting occurs. Then three community cards are turned over at the same time, it is called flop, then another round of betting starts, the forth card is exposed, the turn card, and then another betting round. And last a fifth community card is dealt, the river card, and the last round of betting is then done.

After the betting is the showdown. You can make hand with the best five card combination or two personal card and the five community cards, or you can use one or both cards, or use only the five community cards.

Each player is in the dealers position once a round because the dealer button rotates around the table. Two blinds are used, but the other structure including antes instead of or in addition to blinds can be used.

There can be a lot of irregularities like the first card is exposed, the dealer will reshuffle and re deal the cards, if there are more cards exposed during the deal, this is a misdeal and the cards are dealt if mistakenly the dealer gives the first player a third down card, the card is returned on top and used as the burn card.

The dealer sometimes deals two or more extra cards it is again a misdeal even if the betting has already occurred, the cared are retrieved, re shuffled and the flop is re dealt but only if the flop contains too many cards.

If the fourth card turns before the betting round is completed, the card is taken back out of play. When the betting is finished, the dealer burns and exposes what would have been the fifth card in the fourth cards place. At the next round of betting, the cards will be reshuffled but not burn cards or discards or exposed cards.

If the river card is exposed too soon the deck is reshuffled and re-dealt similarly you must show both your cards if you want to win a pot. If you show one , but discard the other, you will lose the pot. First you must declare that you want to play the five community cards ( play the board ) before discarding the hole cards. If you discard your hand before stating you want to play the board, then you quit your claim to the pot.
